The session will introduce students to the core ideas behind visual storytelling and filmmaking in a practical and accessible format, including:
  • Story structure and developing simple creative ideas
  • Camera basics including framing, movement, and visual storytelling
  • Sound, performance, and how emotion is created on screen
  • Collaboration and understanding different on-set filmmaking roles
  • Basic editing concepts and how scenes are assembled into a finished piece

Filmmaking Essentials

Design, build, experiment, and film your own “mission to the moon” in this workshop for students in years 5 & 6.

Beyond building and experimenting, attendees will also step into the role of filmmakers. They’ll develop a creative storyline for their mission, design a storyboard, and capture their journey on film to produce their own short STEM documentary.

This workshop encourages teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and communication—perfect for curious minds ready to explore, build, and tell their story!
